Suffering what isn't there

Sadhguru, on suffering:

You cannot suffer the past or future because they do not exist. What you are suffering is your memory and your imagination.

What you'll need

  • A moment when something from the past or future has a grip on you
  • Somewhere to write one line

Method

The next time a worry or a memory pulls at you, pause and ask where it lives right now. In the room, or only in your mind?

Name it for what it is. A memory, or an imagining. Then write one line about what you were feeling.

Give it a week, and notice whether naming the thought as memory or imagination changes how heavily it sits.
