What season is it really

Outside, the light and the trees show the season. We mostly just read the calendar.

Seasons don't arrive on a fixed day. They creep in, in the angle of the light, the first cold morning, a tree turning. People once lived close to these signs, and some still find it grounding to track them.

What is the season doing where you are?

What you'll need

  • A short walk, or a window with a view
  • An eye for the small signs

Method

Step outside, or look out, and read the season in the details.

The angle and length of the light, the temperature, the trees, what's growing or fading, the birds.

Don't go by the date, go by what's actually there.

Check in every few days for a couple of weeks, and notice the season turning in small signs, and how early you can catch it changing.
